Essential Oils
An essential oil is a concentrated, liquid containing volatile aroma compounds (oil extracts) from plants. Essential oils are also known as volatile or ethereal oils, or simply as the "oil of" the plant from which they were extracted. An oil is "essential" in the sense that it carries a distinctive scent, or essence, of the plant without chemical or artificial ingredients added.
Essential oils are generally extracted by distillation. Other processes include expression, or extraction. They have been used in perfumes, cosmetics, soap and other products, and for scenting incense.
Various essential oils have been used medicinally at different periods in history.
Essential Oils are extremely potent and are recommended for external use only. These essential oils come in 2 dram amber bottles.
